Activity
  1. Students will work in teams to plan a cultural festival which will showcase at least four different countries that are a represented by someone in their school. All teams will view this Party Planning video.



  1. Components of the festival will include native foods, music, and traditional observances.
  2. Each team will divide tasks between festival programming, publicity, and festival operations.

Technology Resources
  • Presentation software (PowerPoint or Keynote)
  • Publishing Software (Pages or MS Publisher)
  • Eventzi.com (ticket creation)

Programming Team

  • Students will plan a menu for the festival's food stand with dishes that are native to the countries represented at the festival.

  • Students will solicit donations from area restaurants by writing a sponsorship letter using this Writing Prompt.

  • Students will use iTunes to create a musical playlist for each country at the festival.


Publicity Team
  • students will design an invitation for the cultural festival.
  • Using Eventzi.com students will set up online ticketing

Operations Team

  • students will develop a schedule for covering the different festival activities and exhibits.
